High Table, tracing its roots to the Oxbridge collegiate culture, has been a longstanding tradition of residential halls at HKU. It is a dignified occasion at which fellow students, scholars and guests dress up formally, donning academic robes, and gather to break bread following an address by a distinguished member of the local and/or global community.
At Chi Sun, the monthly High Table stands as a most important communal event in the College calendar, with the entire residential body joining together in celebration of our camaraderie. After-dinner exchanges over coffee in the podium and garden provide a relaxed environment for guests, seniors and juniors to mingle and engage in lively intellectual banter.
Such occasions are of course headlined by inspiring speeches from distinguished guests. The College is greatly honoured to have been graced by some of the very best minds. The stature and poise of our speakers have had tremendous impact on our residents, making each High Table an unforgettable experience.
